Science Matters!!

Ms.McDermot and her third class love discovering exciting science. We decided to experiment with materials and how they cause a reaction when mixed together. We had been studying Mount Vesuvius which is a volcano in Italy.
First we made a volcano with our friends. We did this by attaching a plastic bottle to cardboard and surrounding it with paper mache. Then we painted it together. The volcano was left to dry.

A few days later, we took the volcano outside. We caused a reaction in the bottle by mixing vinegar, baking soda , water and food colouring. We learned by mixing these ingredients it caused the volcano to erupt.
Our facial expressions were priceless. It made Ms.McDermot realise that her class are true scientists and don't hold back!!
Hope you like our science experience.
